This bill would allow children to not receive vaccinations if their parent(s) choose for them not to receive the vaccinations based on conscience or personal beliefs. Currently parent(s) may only state religious reasons for exclusion. For more information on this bill and other bills affecting children, visit www.kac.org.

FYI about Kansas Gov. Sam Brownback’s 2013 budget proposal- It includes a measure that would eliminated the Earned Income Tax Credit, a refundable income tax credit for low-income working families.

It also includes a proposal that would assume less than $40 million in funding for the Children’s Initiative Fund. The Children’s Initiative Fund financially assists certain early childhood education programs like the Infant/Toddler Program (tiny-k), Parents as Teachers, Early Head Start and more.
